The Epic Battles TCG!
“Not enough game in your favorite console? Score Entertainment will take favorite video games to a higher level of competition by developing and marketing Epic Battles, a new trading card game designed to bring legendary fighting game characters to life.
Score Entertainment’s premier set of Epic Battles TCG features characters and game situations from both Midway Amusement Inc. and its Mortal Kombat Deception™ video game and Capcom and its Street Fighter III: Third Strike video game. Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat starter decks and booster packs will be sold separately, but both utilize the fully compatible Epic Battles TCG fighting mechanic. Fans can finally position Ryu against Liu Kang, Blanka against Baraka, or M. Bison against Sub Zero in the same arena of play.
Epic Battles TCG will be found exclusively in September at 3,700 company-owned Blockbuster stores. Epic Battles TCG transitions the famous game play found in the video games into a trading card game by allowing favorite fighters from each game to compete in the only realm where these two franchises meet.”
There is much discussion about why this game is a Blockbuster exclusive product however before you make any decisions about whether or not to hold Epic Battles Events, please take the time to read this article from ICV2 regarding the marketing strategy behind it and how it brings an amazing advertising opportunity to your store! Dragon Booster- www.DragonBoosterTCG.com
Product Notice – Dragon Booster TCG
Score Entertainment announced last week, that we have revised our release strategy regarding the Dragon Booster Trading Card Game (TCG) including the June set two product launch, which has been moved to a later date.
We have shifted our release strategy in an effort to better align the TCG with key product releases of Konami’s videogame, Funimation’s DVD release of episode one, and the launch of Jakks’ action figures in late 2005/early 2006.
The Dragon Booster™ TCG received excellent media reviews following its North American launch in February 2005, but proved to be too far ahead of the TCG consumer market.
“Score Entertainment’s Dragon BoosterTM TCG captures all the high-speed energy and fun of the series.” Games Quarterly, issue #4.
Dragon Booster TCG players will continue to be supported through side events throughout this year at conventions around the United States and Canada. All Dragon Booster™ TCG premier level tournaments will be scheduled in 2006
Dragon Booster continues to air on ABC Family at 10:30 a.m. EST Saturdays & Sundays and 7:00 a.m. EST Thursdays, and on Toon Disney at 9:00 p.m. EST, Mondays and Fridays. Outside the U.S., Dragon Booster airs in Australia, Canada and the U.K. with many more international launch dates rolling out in 2005 and 2006.

Host’s Weekly Write-up!
Here is our sixth installment of the Weekly Host Write-Up. . . Enjoy!
“As expected, players are already picking up starters and boosters to see how the game plays, and they're already asking when the tournaments will start! We've scheduled our events for next month already, and the release kits we got from Score have let us schedule our own store tournaments for the next two weekends.
Did somebody at Score name the prize card "Support" on purpose? It's an appropriate name for free prize support!”

Preferred Host and Distributor Program (PHD)
We have now developed a new rank within the SEVEN program called the Preferred Host or Distributor (PHD). Becoming a PHD will allow you to receive additional product, run exclusive events, and much more. You will also be eligible to receive special advertising for your store’s website on our store locator system.
Becoming a PHD also gives your store many additional benefits. Some of those benefits are listed below:
What the PHD will receive:
1.) The option to participate in special Score Entertainment Events available exclusively to PHD.
2.) Special store listing on the Score Entertainment Website.
3.) Special store and event listing on specific game websites.
4.) Traffic directed from Score Entertainment to their store website.
5.) Special prize support, exclusive promotional materials, special events only available for a PHD to run, and additional or special signage for their storefront.
Although being a member of the PHD program is free, there are a few guidelines that you must follow in order to become a Preferred Host or Distributor. Each PHD will be reviewed and evaluated at least once every three months to determine if all requirements are met.
What is required to become and stay a PHD:
1.) Your store must maintain a 30% or lower tournament result abandon rate (7 out of 10 tournaments must have results submitted). If for any reason they are not within these guidelines, the store is subject to review and removal from the PHD program by the Community Manager at any time.
2.) The PHD cannot violate or break any rules or guidelines presented in the SEVEN General Rules, SEVEN Code of Conduct, or any other SEVEN Manual.
3.) The PHD should run events for at least two separate games (IP’s) that are produced by Score Entertainment preferably twice per month.
4.) The PHD should provide feedback each time they are asked by the Community Manager or Organized Play Manager as well as participate in voluntary programs that we offer (IE: New type of tournament, league, or special event not costing money).
If you feel that your store meets these requirements and you would like to participate in the PHD program, please contact me, Erin Giddings, at Tournaments.
